Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 145, reports as follows:
Bill No. 145, transmitted jointly with Res. 234-09, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via
Communication No. 517, dated September 1, 2009, amends Ordinance No. 09-64, as amended, the
Operating Budget ending June 30, 2010. The amendment is as follows:

The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney will use these funds to provide assistance services to victims of
felony and misdemeanor violent crimes. These services include counseling, referrals to community
agencies, assistance with judicial proceedings, and administration of funds used to provide direct services
to victims.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County Charter, the
Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney for its Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim Assistance Program.
