RESOLUTION NO. 27S 00
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A PAIR OF ECLECTUS
PARROTS
WHEREAS, Hercules J. Fontes, 17-324 Pala'ai Street, Keaau, Hawaii, has donated a pair of Eclectus Parrots for
the Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo; and
WHEREAS, the Eclectus Parrots, with an estimated value of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) will be
used for educational and display purposes; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of
the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Department of Parks & Recreation is
authorized to accept the pair of Eclectus Parrots.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Hercules J. Fontes, 17-324 Pala'ai Street,
Keaau, Hawaii 96749, acknowledging this generous donation.
