A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A CATALINA MACAW
WHEREAS, Robert K. Washburn, P.O. Box 1898, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, has donated a two and a half year old
male Catalina Macaw for the Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo; and
WHEREAS, the Macaw, with an estimated value of ONE THOUSAND FNE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($1,500.00) will be used for educational and display purposes; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of
the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ff RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Department of Parks & Recreation is
authorized to accept the male Catalina Macaw.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Robert K. Washburn, P.O. Box 1898,
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745, acknowledging this generous donation.
