The request for alteration of the original Palimanui concept is based on the slow economy.
The promise of housing, jobs, tax base, and infrastructure are quite alluring and there
may be a desire in the County Council to allow adjustments and accept half a loaf.
But be cautious that the half a loaf is not the moldy half!
Carefully consider the amendments.
Remember, the developer is asking for changes that will maximize his profits at the
expense of the "new" way of doing business that insists on infrastructure first. The
County cannot afford to clean up after developers by building the infrastructure. You do
not have to go back in history very far to see the veracity of this. Where is the Hokulia
road to Napoopoo?
The developer profits and the County receives promises. We, the people, cannot afford
such an agreement.
