STATE OF HAWAI'I
RESOLUTION NO. 264 09
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF
$5,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, the Target Corporation wishes to donate $5,000 to the Department of Parks and
Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to support activities/projects at the Kekuaokalani Gym-Park
Complex; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'j County Charter provides that the Council,
on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, the Council of the
County of Hawai'i accepts the $5,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent
to Ms. Jeannie Kavanaugh, Community Relations, Target Corporation, 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis,
Minnesota 55403, acknowledging this generous donation.
