RESOLUTION NO. 263 09
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE MONETARY
CONTRIBUTION FROM THE FIREMANS FUND INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THE
HAWAI'I FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company has a grant program called Fireman's Fund
Heritage, which issues funds to fire departments throughout the United States for various needs; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai'i Fire Department was granted $6,792, from this program, to purchase
1) equipment to connect additional fire stations to the existing video teleconferencing system, 2) upgraded
portable fire extinguisher training equipment, 3) a public address system, and 4) building materials for
training props; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai'i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this contribution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawai'i accepts this contribution.
