The Hawai'i Fire Department (HFD) was granted $6,792.00 from this program. Funds will be utilized to purchase computer connectivities to our existing Video Teleconferencing Systems for the fire stations that do not have VTC equipment due to the unavilability of an adequate infrastructure. These computer connectivities will allow us to meet training delivery needs to our front line personnel who work at these stations. These funds will also be utilized to purchase upgraded portable fire extinguishers for Fire Extinguisher Training, a Public Address (PA) system for clear communication during public community education activities, and building materials for training props for our firefighters, recruits, and volunteers.
