SUBJECT: Resolution Urging the Pro ction of Hawaii County's Home-Rule Authority in
all Matters Relating to Agricultural Policy
Attached for your consideration is a resolution urging the protection of Hawaii County's home-
rule authority in all matters relating to agricultural policy.
Indeed, as shown in passage of Resolution No. 81-09, Hawaii County has the responsibility to
preempt any state legislation that would strip it from enacting any type of legislation, especially
legislation relating to agricultural policy.
Please place this presentation on the appropriate November 3, 2009 Council Committee agenda.
