RESOLUTION N0. 308 00
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEl~NT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT Td HRS 46-7, FOR A
CAREER CRIMINAL PROSECUTION GRANT
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii through the Department of
the Attorney General, has authorized funding for expenses to
prosecute crimes of Career Criminals; and
WHEREAS, the funds provided by the State of Hawaii are
derived from grants provided by the Hawai i State Legislature;
and
WHEREAS, Hawai i Revised Statutes, Section 46-7,
requires that county departments obtain the consent of the
council to enter into agreements with the federal or state
governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the
powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds
or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be
undertaken pursuant to those powers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAI I, that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to
enter into Negotiated Agreement for Grant Contract Number
O1-CCP-4 with the State of Hawai i, Department of the Attorney
General.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the County of
Hawaii is authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement and
any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and
the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawai i County Charter.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office
of the Mayor, the Prosecuting Attorney, and the Department of
Finance.
