RESOLUTION NO. 270 09
A RESOLUTION NAMING THE RESOURCE LIBRARY AT THE AGING AND
DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER AFTER THE LATE SALLY LEILANI WEHRSIG.
WHEREAS, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) located at 1055
Kino'ole Street in Hilo, Hawai'i, serves as a one-stop resource center for information,
counseling, and access to services for our seniors and disabled community; and
WHEREAS, a Resource Library to help the caregivers for the elderly and disabled cope
and have a better understanding of the challenges they face, will soon open at the ADRC; and
WHEREAS, the library will provide a wide variety of informational pamphlets,
brochures, books and periodicals as well as videos and informational CDs available for viewing
and a computer for researching information over the internet; and
WHEREAS, planning for the library was a pet project and passion for the late Sally
Leilani Wehrsig, who worked tirelessly on the project; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wehrsig planned the library's layout and content of available
, information and worked to acquire the library materials several years in advance; and
WHEREAS, with the help of her daughter, interior designer Pohai Moku, Mrs. Wehrsig
worked with KUlani Correctional Industries on the design of the library furnishings and the
furniture for the ADRC waiting area; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW AI'I, that the
Resource Library at the Aging and Disability Resource Center be named the Sally Lailani
Wehrsig Resource Library in memory of the late Sally Wehrsig.

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to Jerry
Wehrsig, County Executive on Aging Alan Parker, and the Honorable Mayor William Kenoi.
