RESOLUTION NO. 333 00
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A PARK BENCH FOR THE ENTRANCE OF
EDITH KANAKAOLE MULTI-PURPOSE STADIUM
WHEREAS, Mrs. Sally Morikawa of Jamestown, North Dakota, would like to donate a park bench in memory of
her late husband, Manabu "Mori" Morikawa, to be used by the Department of Parks and Recreation near the entrance to
Edith Kanakaole Multi-Purpose Stadium; and
WHEREAS, the park bench has a total estimated value of $300;
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of
the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Deparhnent of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of the donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts
the park bench.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mrs. Sally Morikawa, c/o Big Island Re-
tired Military Association, P.O. Box 1840, Kea'au, Hawaii 96749, acknowledging this generous donation.
