Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for a copier for the Office of the Corporation Counsel. With the lease of their current
copier expiring soon, obtaining a new lease on a newer, faster copier that includes
advanced technology such as scanning, scanning to email, networking, faxing, color
copying, and one that incorporates digital imaging software, will allow the staff to
increase its productivity and meet the demands from the public, County clients, and
courts. It is anticipated that the annual cost of the new lease will be under the $8,210
that is currently budgeted by the Office of the Corporation Counsel.

A. REQUEST:
To enter into a five year lease agreement for a copier to be located at the Office of the Corporation Counsel,
located at 101 Aupuni St., Suite 325, Hilo, HI.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The lease on the copier currently in use will expire on February 9, 2010. The Office of the Corporation
Counsel would like to obtain a new lease on a newer, faster copier that includes advanced technology such
as scanning, scanning to email, networking, faxing, color copying and one that can incorporate our digital
imaging software, Laserfiche. Faster machine capabilities available on newer copiers will allow the staff to
increase productivity and meet the increasing demands from the public, our County clients, and courts.
Budgeted this fiscal year for a copier lease is $684 per month or $8210 for the year.
