The goal of this program is to reduce the number of alcohol related fatalities and injuries, to increase public awareness, and to provide a constant deterrence against impaired driving by conducting impaired driving roadblocks on our highways. In the current fiscal year's budget, $92,000 was appropriated in anticipation of this grant. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into the HCPD Roadblock Program account and bringing the total grant appropriation to $95,340.
