Re: Operating Budget
The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has been awarded a Court House Booking Project
Grant from the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General. These funds, derived
from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, will be used to
implement a Court House Booking Project which will provide post-conviction, same=day
penal summons booking at the Hilo and Kona court houses. This project will streamline
the post-conviction booking process and will ensure that the information is entered into the
statewide offender based tracking system.
Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State
of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
this $99,000 grant.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney.
