Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County
Code, which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization
procedures of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its
approval, we request the Council's approval of the following donation:
A monetary donation of $50.00 to the Hawaii County Office of Aging, to be used to
subsidize the cost of producing the Silver Bulletin, which provides individuals 60
years and older, and/or their caregivers with monthly information on opportunities
and services available within their communities, by Herbert T. and Mary Y. Matayoshi,
760 Onaha Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816-4921; in appreciation of the Sliver Bulletin
newsletter that they enjoy reading.
We ask that a letter of appreciation and acknowledgment of their donation be sent to the
donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
