RESOLUTION NO. 274 09
, RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A FURUNO MARINE RADAR
FOR THE HAWAI'I FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Mr. Tom Hesketh would like to donate a Furuno Marine Radar, Model KRA116, to the
Hawai'i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this marine radar, with an estimated total value of $3,000 and to be provided to the
Kailua Search and Rescue Company, will enhance the maritime navigation capabilities and improve the
safety and effectiveness of marine missions; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that the Council,
on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai'j Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawai'i accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Tom Hesketh, 73-4334
Papaana Place, Kailua-Kona, Hi 96740, acknowledging this donation.
