COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 33'7 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO <br /> HRS 46-7, FOR A DATA TRANSMISSION UPGRADE GRANT. <br /> WHEREAS, the State Department of Transportation has authorized funding to <br /> upgrade the equipment which is necessary to transfer information on motor vehicle <br /> accident reports on a more timely basis; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed <br /> with its obligations for the Data Transmission Upgrade Grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that the county <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the federal or <br /> state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by <br /> law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with <br /> projects being or to be under taken pursuant to those powers. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of Hawaii that <br /> the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Department of <br /> Transportation, State of Hawaii to upgrade the equipment necessary to provide information <br /> on traffic accidents on a more timely basis. <br /> <br />
