HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 337 Draft 01 1998-2000 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 33'7 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A DATA TRANSMISSION UPGRADE GRANT. WHEREAS, the State Department of Transportation has authorized funding to upgrade the equipment which is necessary to transfer information on motor vehicle accident reports on a more timely basis; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed with its obligations for the Data Transmission Upgrade Grant; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that the county departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be under taken pursuant to those powers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of Hawaii that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Department of Transportation, State of Hawaii to upgrade the equipment necessary to provide information on traffic accidents on a more timely basis. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police Department.
