Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 159, reports as follows:
Bill No. 159, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 250-09, by Finance Director Nancy
Crawford via Communication No. 564, dated October 1,2009, amends Ordinance No. 09-64, as
amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2010. The amendment is as follows:

The State of Hawai'i Department of Transportation has authorized a Job Access and Reverse
Commute grant to the Hawai'i County Mass Transit Agency. These grant funds, derived from
the Federal Transit Administration, is intended to provide increased transportation service for
working commuters and for those seeking employment. It will be used to fund operating costs to
establish additional routes and frequency of bus service, which include additional weekday and
weekend service.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawai'i County
Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Mass
Transit Agency.
There was no discussion on this measure.
