Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication 561 and Bill 157, reports as follows:
Bill 157, transmitted via Communication No. 561 from County Clerk Kenneth G. Goodenow,
dated September 29,2009, is an ordinance to amend Chapter 14, Article 12, Section 14-71 and
Section 14-72 of the Hawai' i County Code (2005 edition, as amended), relating to the official
bulletin board, by changing the address of the official bulletin board back to the original location
at 25 Aupuni Street, effective December 1 S\ 2009.
Council Member Brenda Ford wanted to know the cost to build one of these bulletin boards,
stating perhaps more are needed to better notify the public.
County Clerk Kenneth Goodenow explained this ordinance is simply presented to coincide with
the anticipated re-occupancy of the newly refurbished County Building, and this action will
return the County Code to conditions existing before the move to the current temporary offices.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill 157 and recommends passage at first reading.
