RESOLUTION NO.
1S
t~HEREAS, in. the year Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Two,
after thirty-seven years of dedicated service in conducting
and supervising numerous elections in the County of Hawaii,
HERBERT A. "SQUINTY" WATSON, a dedicated and loyal public
servant and citizen of the County and State of Hawaii, will
retire from the profession whieh he has:devoted over half-a-
lifetime to, unselfishly and with unquestioned knowledge and
expertise, thereby bringing to an end his career as a devoted
public servant par excellence; and
WHEREAS, "SQUINTY" WATSON has, through his dedication
to his work, earned the lasting admirat~on, respect and
friendship of his fellow workers, his many friends, and
numerous Big Islanders who have had the opportunity and good
fortune to work and associate with him; and
WHEREAS, the people of the County and State of Hawaii
are extremely grateful to have had the services of such a
dedicated and admired public servant in,lIERBERT A. WATSON in
the past and are justifiably proud of his numerous and
worthwhile contributions in upgrading the County1s total
election operations, and in making it one of the best programs
in the State of Hawaii, as is further evidenced by his recent
selection as "County Government Employee of the Year,"
NOta7, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends to HERBERT A. WATSON
its heartfelt I'Mahalo" for his dedicated service to the people
of the County and the State of Hawaii, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is
hereby directed to forward a true copy of this resolution to
HERBERT A. WATSON as evidence of the gratitude of the people
of Hawaii County, who in this humble manner express their warm
wi~~es to HERBERT A. WATSON for a yet productive and satisfying
life of retirement.
