County of Hawaii--State of Hawaii
Resolution
WHEREAS, Section 117 of Title 23, U.S. Code, established the
Secondary Road Plan and made the State responsible for the
administration of all projects on the Federal-Aid Secondary System,
and
WHEREAS, the Counties were made eligible to participate in the
Secondary Road Program; and
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has authorized
federal funds to carry out the program; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii participation provides for
matching the federal aid funds on a 50-50 matching basis; and
WHEREAS, the County desires to use such funds to undertake
the improvements to routes now designated as being part of the
Secondary System;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL of the County
of Hawaii that an expression of intent to participate in the
Federal-Aid Secondary System be, and it is, hereby approved.
