RESOLUTION NO. 46
WHEREAS, the Waiakea Intermediate School Ukulele
Band is scheduled to perform in the States of Colorado and
California beginning April 12, 1973; and
WHEREAS, these dedicated young; people of this county
have over the past few months diligently, unselfishly, and
very self-sufficiently undertaken fund raising projects to
finance this adventure; and
WHEREAS, the funds have been secured, the itinerary
has been set, the other necessary arrangements have been
made, and the fruition of their worthy endeavors are nearing
that exciting day of departure; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council, County of 1-lawaii,
would like to share with them, their parents and their class-
mates this good fortune and happiness and moreso to congratulate
them on their initiative and successful. hard work; and
WHEREAS, the County Council wishes to be with them to
extend the County's official, greetings to their audiences in
California -and Colorado but is unable to do so.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL,
COUNTY OF HAWAII, that Bandmaster George Camarillo and the
eighty-six (86) travelling members of the Waiakea Lnt.ermedia.te
School Ukulele Band are hereby appointed for the duration of
their trip as "Ambassadors of Goodwill-Extraordinarie" and
emissaries of the County of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council wish
the entire travelling party a rewarding, enlightening and
safe trip and that true copies of this resolution be sent to
George Camarillo, Principal Sueo Kondo, Rodney Wong,
Mrs. Elizabeth Kikuchi and each member of the ukulele band.
