HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 048 Draft 01 1972-1976 County of Hawaii--State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii in adopting a policy-oriented General Plan, will be shortly embarking on a comprehensive imple- mentation program; and WHEREAS, much intergovernmental coordination will be required to assure the successful and scheduled implementation of the General Plan; and WHEREAS, the County will be using a progressive concept in the way of an Overall Program Design (OPD) to assist in its imple- mentation efforts; and WHEREAS, the County will be shortly completing the Hilo Community Development Plan (CDP), a unique and innovative off- shoot of the General Plan; and WHEREAS, the County's pioneering efforts in the policy- oriented General Plan, Overall Program Design, and Community Development Plan will require constant monitoring, evaluation, and up-dating to keep them viable and meaningful; and WHEREAS, the County agrees to contribute $3,000 in cash and $500 in services-in-kind for such services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hawaii County Council that it does hereby request of the State Department of Planning and Economic Development and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development assistance in funding the develop- ment of two specific General Plan implementory tools under the auspices of the "701" Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to appropriate State and Federal agencies.
