RESOLUTION NO.
68
WHEREAS, MRS. MATSUE OKAMOTO of Keaau has been
selected as one of the Big Island's Outstanding Senior
Citizens of 1973; and
WHEREAS,this honor is bestowed upon MRS. OKAMOTO
for her concern for people and service to the community; and
WHEREAS, MRS. OKAMOTO is President of the Keaau
Senior Citizens Club and has served with the University
Extension Club, the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity
Council, and the Keaau Village Kumiai; and
WHEREAS, MRS. OKAMOTO has contributed time and
service to the March of Dimes, American Cancer Society,
American Lung Association, Red Cross, PTA and 4-H; and
WHEREAS, MRS. O~10TO is an active member of the
Puna Hongwanji Mission, the Big Island United Bukkyo
Fujinkai Renmei and the Hawaii Honpa Hongwa~ji Bukkyo
Fujinkai Renmei,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that MRS. MATSUE OKAMOTO be and is
hereby extended warm congratulations from the people of
the County of Hawaii for being the Big Island's Outstanding
Senior Citizen of 1973.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the
County of Hawaii .be and is hereby authorized and directed
to transmit copies of this resolution to MRS. MATSUE OKAMOTO
and members of her family as evidence of the gratitude
of the people of the County of Hawaii for her outstanding
service to the community.
