RESOLUTION NO.

i1HEREAS, MR. HISASHI NAGAI of Papaikou has been
selected as one of the Big Island's Outstanding Senior
Citizens of 1973; and
WHEREAS, this honor is bestowed upon Mr. Nagai
for his concern for people and service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, MR. NAGAI is President of the Papaikou
Senior Citizens Club and the Mauna Kea ILWU Pensioners
Club; and
WHEREAS, MR. NAGAI has helped organize the Senior
Citizens Clubs at Honokaa, Pepeekeo, and Keaau; and
WHEREAS, MR. NAGAI is an active participant in
the Retired Senior Volunteers Program and has encouraged
his friends to participate in the program; and
WHEREAS, MR. NAGAI has been President of the
Papaikou Japanese Association, the Papaikou Planters
/
Association and the Kaieie Community Association,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that MR. HISASHI NAGAI be and is
hereby extended warm congratulations for being the Big
Island's Outstanding Senior Citizen of 1973.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County
of Hawaii be and is hereby authorized and directed to
transmit copies of this resolution to MR. HISASHI NAGAI
and members of his family as evidence of the gratitude of
the people of the County of Hawaii for his outstanding
service to the community.
