RE: TRANSFERRING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE LEGISLATIVE
AUDITOR'S DESIGNATED ACCOUNT
Pursuant to Section 3-18 of the Hawai'i County Charter, which established the Legislative
Auditor's Office as an independent audit function within the Legislative Branch, we are
requesting that the attached Resolution transferring funding for the annual external audit from
the Clerk-Council Services accounts to the newly established budget accounts under the
Legislative Auditor's Office be approved by the Hawai'i County Council. The budgeted and
encumbered funds will be transferred from the Clerk-Council Services' External Audit
Miscellaneous Contract Services account to the independent Legislative Auditor's External
Audit Miscellaneous Contract Services account for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Audit, which is
currently being conducted by independent auditors, KPMG LLC.
