Resolution
WHEREAS, the little park next to Magic Sands Park in
Kona is presently known as Lot 26; and
WHEREAS, Lot 26 is not a fanciful name but merely descriptive
of a lot on a subdivision map; and
WHEREAS, the use of Hawaiian names for beaches and parks
enhances the lure and mystic of the Hawaiian Islands; and
WHEREAS, visitors to Hawaii are enthralled by the mysticism
of such names; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii's economy is dependent on such lure and
visitation; and
WHEREAS, the area is known as the ahupuaa of Pahoehoe;
and
WHEREAS, "Pahoehoe" is a Hawaiian name which enhances the lure
and mysticism of the Hawaiian Islands;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the park known as Lot 26, henceforth
be known as Pahoehoe Beach Park.
