HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 128 Draft 01 1972-1976 - - v RESOLUTION No. WHEREAS, KENNETH LEVENBERG was a mathematician of illustrious standing at the University.of Hawaii, Hilo and Campus; 6fflEREAS, KENNETH LEVENBERG was a major contributor for the development of the computer during the inception stage of development; and .WHEREAS, KENNETH LEVENBERG was the developer of the mathematical formulation used by Boeing Aircraft Co. to construct the Boeing 737 passenger jet; and WHEREAS, KENNETH LEVENBERG is well noted for the invention of the method of Damped Least Squares; and WHEREAS, KENNETH LEVENBERG was listed in the American Men of Science in 1970 because of his accomplishments in the field of mathematics, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it wishes to express its sincerest condolence on behalf of the people of the County of Hawaii to the Levenberg family. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to Firs. Josefina Levenberg With deepest sympathy from the County of Hawaii for the loss of a professor of such a noted fame.
