LYMAN has driven an impressive 1,335,000 miles of commercial driving without a chargeable accident; and WHEREAS, EUGENE F. LYMAN was named as Hawaii truck driver for 1974 by the Hawaii 'rucking Association; and WHEREAS, EUGENE H. LYMAN will represent the State as Hawaii's top driver in the national competition for America's driver of the year; and WHEREAS, EUGENE H. LYMAN actively promotes safe driving programs in the community and on his job which have resulted in improved safety standards in the sugar plantations in Hawaii County; and WHEREAS, EUGENE H. LYMAN has set an exemplary standard for all of Hawaii's drivers by his long record of non-chargeable accidents and active participation in the promotion of safety on the road, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its warmest mahalo in behalf of the people of the County of Hawaii to EUGENE H. LYMAN for being selected as Hawaii's truck driver of the year. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to EUGENE H. LYMAN as testimony of its appreciation in significantly promoting road safety on Hawaii's highways.
