(48) Kalanianaole Street, m:Juka SOUTH side, from Kamehameha Avenue to a point one hundred SIXTY THREE feet west of the Seaside Restaurant driveway. (51) Kalanianaole Street, m:Juka SOUTH side, from a point one hundred EIGHTY THREE feet east of the Seaside Restaurant driveway to Leleiwi Street. (52) Kalanianaole Street, north side, from a point eight hundred fifty-NINETY -ONE feet west of Onekahakaha Beach Road aR€i-extending westw:Jrd to /\p:Jpane Street SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE FEET IN THE WESTERLY DIRECTION. Date..DEe 1 2{)\)~ (49) Kalanianaole Street, NORTH SIDE, FROM A POINT FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN FEET EAST OF BANYAN WAY beginning at Fisherman's Cove and extending one hundred eighty three FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY-ONE feet in the WESTERLY direction until the first parking stall on Banyan \^Jay. The reason for the amendment to item (49) is based on a request by the Hawaii Police Department due to people parking and encroaching onto the paved shoulder causing a safety concern for the pedestrians and bicyclists. The subject area is adjacent to the parking lot of address 135 Kalanianaole (former Harrington's Restaurant). Traffic Code Amendment - Kalanianaole Street cont'd We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking), Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), paragraph (c) (South Hilo) be amended by deleting item (50) Deleting item (50) will remove an existing no parking at anytime zone. The zone is between James Kealoha Park and Carlsmith Park. The zone was established and was more applicable prior to James Kealoha Park being gated. With gated access and the adjacent road/driveway being an entry only, we recommend the no parking at anytime zone be removed so more parking can be provided. We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking), Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), paragraph (c) (South Hilo) be amended by adding new items: () KALANIANAOLE STREET, NORTH SIDE, FROM A POINT FIFTY SEVEN FEET EAST OF LELEIWI STREET EXTENDING FIVE HUNDRED FEET IN THE WESTERLY DIRECTION. This particular amendment will extend an existing signed no parking at anytime zone to include an area that is considered too narrow for vehicular parking () KALANIANAOLE STREET, NORTH SIDE, FROM A POINT THREE HUNDRED FIFTEEN FEET WEST OF UWAU STREET EXTENDING FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-THREE FEET IN THE WESTERLY DIRECTION. This particular amendment will add an existing no parking at anytime zone that was not listed in the Hawaii County Code. We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking), Section 24-281, Schedule 29 (Parking prohibited during certain hours on certain streets), paragraph (c) (South Hilo) be amended by revising existing item: (12) Kalanianaole Street, mauka SOUTH side, from a point SIXTY THREE-ooe hundred feet west of the Seaside Restaurant driveway aflG.-extending ONE twa hundred FIFTY-EIGHT seventeen feet in the easterly direction except between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. County of Hawai'j is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer.
