Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 166, reports as follows:
Bill No. 166, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 590,
dated October 21, 2009, amends Ordinance No. 09-64, as amended, the Operating Budget,
ending June 30, 2010. The amendment is as follows:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has authorized a Cooperative Technical
Partners Grant for the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works to revise riverine portions
of FEMA's preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRM) for Hawaii County. The
funds will pay for necessary equipment and reimburse the County Data Systems Department,
Graphic Information Systems Division (GIS) for preparing the revised DFIRMs.
By accepting the grant, the County agrees to be a part of FEMA's Mapping Modernization Team
and work closely with FEMA and its contractor to finalize the DFIRMs for Hawaii County.
There exists a Cooperating Technical Partners Memorandum of Agreement between FEMA and
the County of Hawaii, as authorized by Resolution No. 11-03, and further amended by
Resolution No. 148-04.
