Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 264-09, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 264-09, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication
No. 592, dated October 21, 2009, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation from the
Target Corporation.
The Target Corporation has graciously donated $5,000 to the Department of Parks and
Recreation to support the activities/projects at the Kekuaokalani Gym-Park Complex.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. Jeannie Kavanaugh, Community Relations, Target
Corporation, 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, Minnesota 88703.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Resolution
No. 264-09 and recommends its adoption.
