Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 266-09, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 266-09, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication
No. 594, dated October 20, 2009, authorizes the Director of Finance to dispose real properties,
identified by Tax Map Keys (3)5-4-002-008 (tank site) and (3)5-4-003-016 (chlorinator site), to
the water board of the County of Hawaii.
The County of Hawaii obtained the aforementioned properties in 1961 from the Kohala Sugar
Company. Presently, the Department of Water Supply maintains the tank and the chlorinator
sites. The Water Board, which owns the reservoir located on property adjacent to the tank site,
desires to expand its existing reservoir site and other water system facilities at this location.
Pursuant to Section 2-120, Hawaii County Code, the County may, via resolution, dispose of real
property at such price and on such terms and conditions deemed proper to governmental
agencies.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Resolution
No. 266-09 and recommends its adoption.
