SUBJECT: An Ordinance Amending Chapter 14, Article 1, Section 14-1 of the Hawaii
County Code 1983(2005 Edition, as amended), Relating to Intoxicating Liquors
Prohibited in Certain Public Places
Attached please find a proposed amendment to Chapter 14, Article 1, relating to consumption of
intoxicating liquors at parks.
The bill proposes to amend section 14-1 of the Hawaii County Code by the addition of La`aloa
Bay Beach Park. The addition of this beach park would mean that consumption of
alcohol would be prohibited on its premises at all times.
La`aloa Bay Beach Park does not currently have any restrictions or prohibitions relating to
consumption of alcohol.
Please place this bill on the appropriate committee agenda for those meetings scheduled for
December 15, 2009.
