The repaving of the tennis courts at Kamehameha Park, project valued at $54,375, to the Department of Parks & Recreation. This turnkey project was carried out by community volunteers and received its funding from the donors noted on the attached Exhibit B. We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donors. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens Halloween ZooBoo event was held on Saturday, October 31, 2009, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In support of this event, several businesses and the Boy Scouts of America, Pukahi District donated merchandise gift cards and Halloween treat packets. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters donated a tour for 2 for a lucky Halloween drawing. This very successful event included free games, crafts, costume contest and face painting, with over 1,400 keiki and adults in attendance. Thanks to this overwhelming community support, we were able to provide this much needed family event with minimal impact of our County Resources.
