quantity of extra.

Dismantling and salvaging of material from shop building, 6-classroom building
and water tanks.
Justification
The work under Increment 3 includes the removal of several classroom buildings9
water tanks, and other structures located in the area of the new construction.
The contract drawings specify the dismantling and salvaging of material to
be done by the County in order to provide work for the Kona carpenter crew.
However, due to the consolidation of Keauhou School with Holualoa School,
construction of additional classrooms and the enlargement of the dining hall
at Holualoa are necessary. In view of the immediate nature of both the
construction of new facilities at Holualoa and the. dismantling work at
Konawaena, it is necessary to contract the latter work to the Konawaena School
contractor.
