COUNTY OF HAWAII -STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 38
SETTING PER DIEM OF $25.00 FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS WHEN AWAY FROM THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ATTEND
PRE=LEGISLATIVE HEARINGS OR.TESTIFY.BEFORE THE.LEGISLATURE
OR ITS COMMITTEES IN,SUPPORT.OF.COUNTY-LEGISLATIONS.
WHEREAS, the performance of County business necessitates
traveling by members of the Board of Supervisors to attend
pre-legislative hearings, or to lobby or testify before the
State Legislature or its committees on matters of County
interests; and
WHEREAS, personal expenses are incurred on'such official
business trips away from the County of Hawaii
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY.THE .BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that any,County Supervisor,
while away from the County of Hawaii to attend pre-legislative
hearings or to testify or lobby before the State Legislature
or its committees in support of County legislations shall be
allowed a per diem of $25.00 a day, which amount is to cover
all personal expenses such as board, lodging, etc., but not
*w,& e: fares for air transportation; and the Auditor is. directed to
issue a warrant payable to such Supervisor for such purpose,
out of departmental travel account, at the above rate, from the
date of his departure from, to the date of his return to, the

County of Hawaii, upon furnishing a sworn signed statement setting
~ forth'-tle time of absence. For the purpose of computing per diem,
twenty-four (24) hours shall constitute a day; provided, however,
any Supervisor who is away from the County for this purpose for
less than twelve (12) hours shall be entitled to $12.50, and
provided further that.a.ny Supervisor who is away for more than

twelve (12) hours but less than twenty-four (24) hours shall
be entitled to $25.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that County of Hawaii Resolution
No. 379 of 1962 is hereby repealed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and she
is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy of this
resolution to the County Auditor, County Treasurer, County
Purchasing Agent, and to the Administrative Assistant to Board
Committees.
