Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 171, reports as follows:
Bill No. 171, transmitted, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 612, dated
November 3, 2009, amends Ordinance No. 09-64, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30,
2010. The amendment is as follows:

The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs - Safe Community Program is providing an
additional funding of $3,000 to the Hawaii County Police Department's Data Grant Program. The goal of
this program is to establish a statewide traffic date system and ensure compliance with national standards.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County Charter, the
Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Hawaii County Police
Department's Data Grant Program.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 171, and recommends
it pass first reading.
