Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 174, reports as follows:
Bill No. 174, transmitted, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 615,
dated November 5, 2009, amends Ordinance No. 09-65, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending
June 30, 2010, by adding the following project:
FIRE:
Makalei Fire Station - Federal 110.299.5296.92 $4,114,000
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
Federal Grants Receivable $4,114,000
The Hawaii County Fire Department applied for and was recently notified of the approval of the
grant application from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, from the U.S. Department
of Homeland Security (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act).
Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget
for that year with a two-thirds vote.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 174, and
recommends it pass first reading.
