Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication 609 and Resolution 270-09, reports as follows:
Resolution 270-09, transmitted via Communication No. 609 transmitted November 2, 2009 from
council member Dennis Onishi, names the Resource Library at the Aging and Disability
Resource Center after the late Sally Leilani Wehrsig, at the request of Alan Parker, County
Executive on Aging.
There were no public testifiers.
Mr. Onishi shared how this facility is a place for information and support for elderly healthcare,
and a place to research how to get assistance. Sally Wehrsig made this library a place of comfort
and a source for valuable information. She also helped acquire nice furnishings, appropriate for
the users of the center. Her foresight of how to provide care for seniors is commendable.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution 270-09 and recommends its adoption.
