Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 169, reports as follows:
Bill No. 169, transmitted via Communication No. 604, transmitted by County Clerk Kenneth G.
Goodenow, dated September 24, 2009, and by Communication 604. 1, from Mayor William P.
Kenoi, dated September 22, 2009, presents amendments to the Hawaii County General Plan, as
adopted by Ordinance No. 05-25, as amended, relating to the conversion from a single planning
commission to Windward and Leeward planning commissions.
As requested at by Resolution 108-09, adopted by the County Council on June 16, 2009, the
proposed amendments were reviewed and approved by the Planning Department and the
Leeward and Windward Planning Commissions.
There was no discussion on the matter.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill 169, and
recommends it pass first reading.
