COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 156
WHEREAS, Section 1-D-6-a of Act 201, Session Laws of
Hawaii 1963, appropriated $215,000 to construct the Honokaa
Armory, and the project having been completed, there appears
to exist a certain unexpended balance in said account; and
WHEREAS, Section 1-D-8-d of said Act 201, Session Laws of
Hawaii 1963, also appropriated $255,000 to construct the Honokaa
Elementary, School, and the project having been completed, there
appears to exist a certain unexpended balance in said account; and
WHEREAS, Section 1-D-5-a of said Act 201, Session Laws of
Hawaii 1963, also appropriated $650,000 to construct the New
County of Hawaii Building Complex, Kaiko'o Project, Hilo, Hawaii;
and
- WHEREAS, Section 1-D-7-k of Act 521 Session Laws of Hawaii
1964, appropriated $3201000 to construct the Honokaa School; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid submitted to construct said Honokaa
School was $3631352, exceeding the available amount by $43, 352; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii made up the difference by

advancing the fund from the County of Hawaii new County Building
Fund; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6, of Act 201, Session Laws of Hawaii
19631 unrequired surplus can be expended for any project in the
same county in Section 1 thereof with the approval of the Governor,
upon recommendations of the Director of the Department of Planning
and Economic Development and the Director of the Department of
Budget and Finance,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in:.and for the County of Hawaii that it respectfully requests
the Honorable John A. Burns, Governor of the State of Hawaii, to
transfer so much of the unexpended balances as remain in the
accounts to construct the Honokaa Armory and the Honokaa Elementary
School to the New County of Hawaii Building Complex, Kaiko'o
Project, pursuant to Section 61 of Act 201, Session Laws of Hawaii
1963, governing such transfer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and she is
hereby directed to send copies of this Resolution to the
Honorable John A. Burns, Governor of the State of Hawaii, to the
Honorable Shelley Mark, Director of the Department of Planning
and Economic Development, and to the Honorable Andrew F. Ing,
Director of Finance, for their favorable consideration.
