Kubojiri; Kanehailua, Marshall Subject: RE: HSAC E911 Resolution Importance: High Aloha Council Member Onishi, Thank you for providing us the opportunity to review and comment on the HSAC E911 Resolution, requesting . that the state refrain from utilizing the wireless enhanced 9-1-1 special fund for purposes other than as designated by Act 159 (2004) and allow the counties to maintain the capability to provide adequate public safety to residents and visitors; and requesting that the governor and the legislature consider removing the spending cap on the wireless enhanced 9-1-1 fund to allow for greater flexibility in maintaining and upgrading the 9-1- 1 emergency response system. Our department as the primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Hawaii County, strongly supports this resolution and encourages the County Council to approve the measure. In addition, as our County's representative on the State of Hawaii Wireless Enhanced 911 Board, I can confirm that this resolution is in concert with the plans of the Board. Mahalo, Paul K.
