Dear council members,
My name is Yuri Zhuraw and I am an organic farmer on the Hamakua coast. I live in Pa'auilo and
we grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. We also grow local timber bamboo which we build with on
the island. I advocate Hawaii lands to be used for local consumption and for the benefit of local
Hawaiians for future keiki's. I also believe in Organic methods to help revitalize the Ahu' pua'a model
for trading communities from mouka to makai to flourish without foreign inputs, expectations for
investment returns, and unforseen implications from GMO crops.
I strongly advocate bill 132 for transparency to be passed to bring politics back to the kama'aina. A
Democracy is based on the whole of the community to be heard and to make compromises together with
Aloha.
