COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII.
RESOLUTION NO. 62
EXPRESSING. THE GRATITUDE OF THE PEOPLE OF: HAWAII TO THE
CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR PASSAGE OF THE
BILL ADMITTING THE STATE OF HAWAII INTO THE UNION.
WHEREAS, the Senate a,rd House of Representatives of
the Congress of the United States of America overwhelmingly
i.
passed the bill to admit the State of Hawaii into the Union
on March 11 and 12, 1`959', respectively; and
WHEREAS, the people of Hawaii desire to express their
sincere appreciation to the members of the Congress of the
United States of America for their favorable action,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the board of
supervisors of the County of Hawaii that the deep gratitude
and sincere thanks of the people of the County of Hawaii be
and are hereby given to the members of the Congress of the
United States of America for their favorable action on the
bill to admit the State of Hawaii into the Union;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this
resolution be forwarded to the President of the Senate and
Speake"ry"of the House of Representatives of the Congress of
the United States of America.
