COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF'HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 64
EXPRESSING THE GRATITUDE OF THE PEOPLE OF HAWAII TO THE
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA UPON SIGNING
OF THE BILL GRANTING STATEHOOD TO HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Honorable Dwight D. Eisenhower, President
of the. United States of America, signed the bill passed by
the Co.ng,'r;ess of the United States of America. granting
statehood to the'Territory.of Hawaii on the 18th day of
;March,' 1959; and
WHEREAS, the people of Hawaii desire to express their
sincere appreciation to the said Dwight D. Eisenhower,
President of the United States of America, for his favorable
actio.n.o.n the said statehood bill,
NOW, THEREFORE; ` BE IT RESOLVED by the board of
supervisors, in and for the County of Hawaii, that the
deep gratitude and sincere "Aloha" of the people of the
.County of Hawaii be and a.re hereby extended to the Honorable
Dwight D. Eisenhower,' President of the United States of
America, for his favorable action on the bill. granting
statehood to the Territory of Hawaii;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States.
of America.
