COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 71
WHEREAS, the hopes and aspirations of the people of
Hawaii for equal rights and privileges with all other
citizens of the United States have been realized by
passage of the bill admitting the State of Hawaii into
the Union; and
WHEREAS, it is particularly appropriate that special
thanks be given to those members of the Congress of the
United States whose patient and tireless personal efforts
on behalf of the people of Hawaii brought about the
eventual fulfillment of these hopes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that the personal thanks and
fondest aloha of the people of Hawaii be and they are hereby
given to the Honorable Representative John W. McCormack of
the great State of Massachusetts, distinguished Majority
Leader of the House of Representatives of the Congress of
the United States, for his patie.nt,thoughtful and untiring
efforts on their behalf to attain for them full and equal
rights and privileges with all other citizens of the United
States by the granting of statehood.to Hawaii; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution be sent forthwith to the Honorable John W. McCormack.
