HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 089 Draft 01 1959 COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. $R WHEREAS, Section 130-10 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii 1955 provides in effect that any vehicle not having the number plates required by Sections 130-1 to 130-11, or any vehicle upon which taxes are not paid before April 1, 1959, may be seized, wherever found, by the treasurer or by any police officer, and impounded; and WHEREAS, the impounding of motor vehicles may present an undue hardship upon many of the citizens of the County of Hawaii due to adversity of the economy in the County, of Hawaii at present, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that Richard Tanabe, Treasurer, County of Hawaii and Anthony Paul, Chief of Police, County of Hawaii, be and are hereby requested to use their good powers and discretion of their offices and grant a moratorium to May 4; 1959, for the impounding of motor vehicles.' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to send a copy of this resolution to Richard Tanabe, Treasurer, County of Hawaii, and to Anthony Paul, Chief of Police, County of Hawaii.
