COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS,..the Constitution of the State of Hawaii
provides that the legislature shall create counties and
may create other political subdivisions within the State
and provide for the government thereof and that each
political subdivision shall have and exercise such powers
as shall be conferred under general laws; and
WHEREAS, the Constitution of the State of Hawaii
provides that each political subdivision shall have power
to frame and adopt a charter for its own self-government
within such limits and under such procedures as may be
prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, a state-wide organization of county boards
of supervisors will serve as a medium for an interchange
of ideas among the various supervisors to resolve common
problems, promote uniformity and provide for better
government,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that,the
formation of a State of Hawaii organization of County
Boards of Supervisors be and is hereby endorsed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
in and for the Counties of Kauai, Maui and the City and
County of Honolulu be and are hereby respectfully urged
to join in the creation of said organization.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
he is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution
